Three University of Kentucky graduate students emerged victorious in the 2023 'GradTeach Live!' finals competition, taking home over $1,700 in prize money.
Nigel Taylor wrote a children’s book in 2017. He held the first copy of this book, “The Endless Possibilities with Nora and Vincent,” in 2022. Though the five years between those two moments posed challenges, Taylor remained determined to bring his book to life.
Regan Nichols, a Louisville-based marketing and advertising executive, delivered the 2023  Irwin Warren Lecture on Thursday, April 13, 2023. The lecture, sponsored by the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication and the College of Communication and Information.

The University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information held its annual College Excellence Awards on Friday, March 31. The ceremony and luncheon recognize the outstanding work and talent of CI faculty and staff.
The University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information (CI) is hosting the "Alzheimer’s and Dementia Photo Voice Showcase” a photo exhibition and reception featuring images taken by CI students which represent their perceptions and feelings about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, people living with dementia-related illnesses and their caregivers and family members.
It is undeniable — the video game industry is booming. With more than $170 billion in global revenues, the gaming industry is worth more than the film and music industries combined, presenting a plethora of opportunities for young professionals. “It’s a common misconception that the gaming industry is only for computer science scholars,” said Zixue Tai, an associate professor in the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information’s (CI) School of Journalism and Media.
Youngok Choi will be the director of the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information’s School and Information Science effective July 1, following current Director Jeffrey Huber’s return to faculty after serving 15 years in the role.
For the eighth year in a row, the University of Kentucky Intercollegiate Debate Team is ranked in the top 16 nationally as they enter the National Debate Tournament. The partnership of David Griffith and Austin Kiihnl received a coveted first-round automatic bid to the National Debate Tournament. Kentucky has received a first-round bid each of the past eight years, which ties a UK record (1984-1991). This is UK’s 30th first round bid and marks 50 years of qualifying for the national tournament.
