The UK Alumni Association announced the selection of 33 students who will serve as Alumni Ambassadors for the 2023-2024 academic year. As official student hosts of the University of Kentucky, Alumni Ambassadors promote the university at numerous events in partnership between the Office of the President, Office of Philanthropy and the UK Alumni Association.  
Allison Gordon, Ph.D., a professor in the College of Communication and Information Department of Communication, is one of 16 University Research Professors for 2023-24. The University Research Professorships honor faculty members who have demonstrated excellence that addresses scientific, social, cultural and economic challenges in our region and around the world. 
Derek Lane, a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information, is one of this year’s Great Teacher Award recipients.
The University of Kentucky Office of Nationally Competitive Awards has announced that four students have been offered Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships to travel abroad to teach, study or pursue research for the 2023-24 academic year. Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected based on academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential in their fields. The program operates in more than 140 countries.
After years of hard work and determination, father and daughter, Jeff and Shelby Lynn, will walk across the commencement stage today to receive their bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kentucky College of Communication and Information. The journey to this moment was not an easy one, as both faced their own unique challenges along the way. But together, they supported each other through the ups and downs, and now celebrate their achievements — side by side.

University of Kentucky junior Rayleigh Deaton, a communication and political science major from Charleston, South Carolina, has been awarded an English-Speaking Union (ESU) Scholarship presented by the English-Speaking Union Kentucky Branch. The scholarship will cover Deaton’s expenses for summer study at the University of Oxford, where she will study English literature.
The 17th biennial Kentucky Conference on Health Communication (KCHC) is right around the corner, and this year’s conference will honor a scholar who first attended KCHC as a graduate student.
