Former Obama speechwriter Cody Keenan to deliver 2024 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture

Cody Keenan, former director of speech writing for the Obama administration, will deliver the 2024 James C. Bowling Executive-in-Residence Lecture at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Grand Courtroom of the Rosenberg College of Law. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication and the College of Communication and Information at the University of Kentucky. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Bowling Lecture.

Scott Horn receives 2024 James Madison Award

The 2024 James Madison Award recipient for service to the First Amendment is Scott Horn, co-director of the Kentucky Open Government Coalition (KOGC). The University of Kentucky School of Journalism and Media and its Scripps Howard First Amendment Center, housed in the College of Communication and Information, present the award annually.

CI alums earn medals at Paris Olympics

The University of Kentucky set a school record with 24 student-athletes, alumni and coaches in the Paris Olympics who represented nine countries across six sports in the Games. Eleven Wildcats won 13 medals — nine gold, two silver and two bronze.
